Happy St. Patrick’s Day

It is not much of a rainbow, but it is a rainbow.

I was not even aware that it was St. Patrick’s Day this morning when I spotted this speck of rainbow. I had to stand on my tiptoes to see it. I tried to get a photo, but all manner of things were in the way. I actuallly went into Pedro’s shop and got out the stepladder real quick, to get a better shot with my camera.

Another try, not much better.

“Duh!” I told myself. “The house is in the way, so obviously you need to shoot from the front of the house.” I left my hot coffee on the rock path, left the stepladder in the back yard and ran back to the house, took off my poop boots (That’s my nickname for the back yard boots I wear for all activities, but especially inside the chicken coop, for obvious reasons.), ran through the house, out the front door, grabbed Jupyter who was trying to make a break for it, pulled up the camera to my face and…. no rainbow. So at least I got a peep.

Then later, after I had put everything away and went back to the back yard office. Then I learned it’s St. Patrick’s Day. So hey! I’m lucky. Maybe I should buy lottery tickets or something.

I also learned today that it is my blogging anniversary.

I posted on Word Press for the first time on March 17, 2010. The post really said next to nothing. It was a tester, as I poked and prodded the Interwebs looking for a new blog host when my old blog host died. I’m so glad I decided to stay here and then I got to meet you all. Just think of the wonderful adventures we have had since then!

If you do click the link, you may notice that there are posts much earlier than 2010. That’s because I re-posted, one by one, every old post back to 2007 from my former blog hosting site, and dated it the original date. But I wasn’t really here until today, 16 years ago.

When I went out to feed the chickens, I noticed a couple of hybrid daffodils were blooming. These bulbs I spotted and tucked away into the earth when I built the garden bed frames last spring. I’m so glad I did that. Look how beautiful they are!

I had a doctor’s appointment today and got a tetanus shot and a pneumococcal shot this afternoon at my doctor’s office, both apparently good for ten years. Pedro just got his tetanus six months ago and suggested we can now safely jab each other with rusty nails. It’s going to be a fun week…
